Not all iron-on films are created equal.
Our backing film is:
• Heat activated
• Strong, flexible bond
• Designed for textile use
• Able to be cut-to-size precision
• Long lasting under movement
Built to handle motion — including active dogs (and humans)
• Wait 24 hours before washing
• Wash inside out
• Avoid high heat drying
• Reinforce early to prevent spreading lift
Small repair now = longer lifespan later.
If a patch starts lifting at the edges, backing film can be inserted underneath and heat pressed to rebond it to the garment.
This prevents the lift from spreading further.
Older patches sometimes lose their adhesive backing over time.
Applying a new backing layer restores the patch so it can be ironed onto garments again.
Many embroidered patches are sold as sew-on only.
Backing film allows you to add adhesive so the patch can be applied with heat instead of sewing.
This makes patch placement much easier.
• Patch Repair Kit backing film

• Baking paper or thin tea towel
• Household iron
• Flat surface
Cut the backing film slightly larger than the patch area you want to bond.
For repairs, slide the film underneath the lifted area.
For sew-on patches, place the film on the back of the patch.
Place baking paper or a tea towel over the patch to protect it during ironing.
Press firmly with a household iron:
• No steam
• 15–20 seconds
• Apply even pressure
For heavier fabrics like denim, press slightly longer.
Let the patch cool completely before testing the bond.
Once cooled, the patch should be securely attached.
To keep your patches looking great:
• Wait 24 hours before washing
• Wash garments inside out
• Avoid high heat drying
• Reinforce patches early if edges lift
